Electricity
Magnetism

Media
In the basement area is an area reserved for younger explorers, under the age of eight and includes ball machines and an art machine, leading onto the garden for more exploration and safe outdoor fun. The Cot Lift exhibition tells the story of Villa Bighi, which was used as a military hospital and was the Royal Navy hospital when Malta was under British rule. The lift will soon be in operation again, taking visitors down to sea level. Esplora’s Planetarium building features a colourspace 4K theatre, hosting entertaining and educational shows about Earth, the Solar System, space and the Universe. The Planetarium also thirteen interactive exhibits relating to the Universe we live and covers extra-terrestrial life and the International Space Station amongst other subjects. The Activity Centre is situated next to the Cot Lift and will feature theatre, art and music activities along with science workshops for all ages. Various science shows will also be held in this area. More adventurous explorers will love the outdoor activity area, which features interactive water tanks, giving hands-on fun! Also here are interactive sound exhibits, rotating illusions and an adventure area.
Esplora is located in Villa Bighi, Kalkara, Malta and had the aim of making the exhibits accessible to all. As you can imagine, in an old building of this sort that can prove difficult, but disabled parking is available and entry assistance can be pre-booked with the centre. The centre also caters for school visits and is the perfect family outing with loads to interest the children. A café, serving food and drinks is located in the main entrance area.
