Inland Sea Dwejra

The area of Dwejra and the Inland sea is one of the most beautiful and spectacular spots in the Island of Gozo, and is a “must visit” for both locals and tourists on holiday in Malta. The Inland Sea is a natural lagoon of seawater on the island of Gozo linked to the deep dark blue Mediterranean Sea through a narrow opening formed by a natural arch and a 50-metre cave. The Inland Sea beach is very picturesque with traditional colourful fishing boats bobbing up and down, and with beautiful nature surrounding the lagoon. The Inland Sea has shallow, calm and safe waters with a pebbly shore and seabed good for swimming and children. There are also good areas for swimming at Dwejra,  however it is rougher and the sea is significantly deeper and is not recommended for children and inexperienced swimmers. The Maltese Luzzu boats pass through the tunnel of the Inland Sea and take visitors through the tunnel to explore the nearby caves. The Inland Sea is a very popular diving site!
