Find out what's happening in Paceville

Malta’s nightlife is particularly exciting; in fact, many tourists are attracted to Malta because of the number of clubs, concerts and events happening throughout the year.

The nightlife in Malta is mainly concentrated in the areas of Paceville and St. Julian’s, which are literally dotted with discos, lounge bars, clubs, restaurants and casinos waiting for you to have the best nights of your life. Most clubs and discos are side by side and have free entrances. Clubs and discos are open until 4:00 and alcohol sold inside is not so expensive – around €2 for a beer,  €2.50 for spirits and €6 for longer drinks or cocktails.

Maltese law states that there should be no smoking indoors, and that only plastic cups are allowed outside, so be careful not to get any fines; policemen roam the area throughout all evenings for security purposes.

In the summer season, the nightlife expands from Paceville, as some outdoor clubs open its doors for clubbing events. Concerts by internationally renowned artists and DJs are often held in outdoor venues. Apart from that, you can also try the bars and clubs of Bugibba, which are popular amongst the locals as well. Boat parties are all the rage in the summer season as well, usually departing from Sliema Ferry area or Bugibba Pier.

Casinos are gaining higher popularity with many locals and tourists who visit Malta with the purpose of gambling. In the recent years, Malta became a core of the online gaming sector and therefore local casinos are using this to organize international gaming events, especially poker ones.

You have to be 18 years old to enter a casino if you’re a foreigner or 25 years old if you’re Maltese

Some of Malta's major casinos are:

Dragonara Casino

Portomaso Casino
